Dear friend, do you know what secret is? A secret is information or an action that is hidden from others. Maybe you also keep a small secret. We are surrounded by many mysteries. Scientists, historians, and archeologists search for answers to our world’s most inexplicable mysteries. And sometimes they find the answers. But you know, there is someone who knows all secrets, and there is nothing hidden from Him. You guessed it right. Of course, it is God. Nothing can be hidden or concealed from Him. The Bible says: “Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.” (Psalm 139:4) “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (Psalm 139:15) God knows each one of us very well.

Do you remember the story of Adam and Eve? It is written in the book of Genesis. When Adam disobeyed God and ate the fruit that God had forbidden him to eat, Adam realized that he sinned and hid from the Lord. My friend, do you think it is possible to hide from God? Of course not! “Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? Declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? Declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:23-24)

Of course God knew where Adam was. But He asked him, “Where are you?” Do you know why He asked that? God knew that Adam had sinned. By asking this question God was inviting Adam to have a conversation with Him. He wanted Adam to admit what he did. This is called confession of sins.

But why did God want Adam to confess his sin? Because only through confession of sin can God forgive and cleanse us. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) In the same way the Lord expects us to confess our mistakes and reveal to Him our heart’s desires. If you did something wrong and told God about it, do not worry, He will forgive you; because He is a Holy, Kind and Loving God. The Lord says: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” (Jeremiah 31:3) But if you do not confess your sin before God, then He will judge it with all justice. Because our God is a Just God and He cannot stand anything that is false. The Bible says: “For God will bring every deed into judgement, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

Dear friend, if you have sinned and now you are moved in your heart with what you did, then open up your heart to God. He will forgive and help you do what is right.

Pray with us in this prayer: “Heavenly Father, thank you for knowing me. Thank You for hearing me when I call. Help me live a righteous life and act according to your commandments. In the name of Jesus, Amen.”
